If you missed Mayo Clinic’s latest research findings or want to watch it one more time, watch it on YouTube.
Always a highlight of the SCADaddle weekend, Dr. Sharonne Hayes presented Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program’s latest research findings at our annual Chicagoland SCAD Reunion Social/Dinner. Afterwards, Dr. Hayes took questions from the audience present at the dinner as well as those who joined virtually.
This was a wonderful opportunity to hear from a leading expert on spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD). Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, was the first institution to conduct research focused specifically on SCAD. Thank you Dr. Hayes for spending your Friday and Saturday with us!
The audience consisted of supporters and survivors who recently had a SCAD to those who had their SCAD many years ago. Several of the audience members had lost their loved ones to SCAD, our SCAD Angels.
SCAD Research, Inc is an all-volunteer IRS approved 501c(3) public charity established in 2011. Because of the hard work of our supporters and the generosity of many, we have raised and donated over $1.6 million for research. Most of these funds have been awarded to Mayo Clinic.
Thank you to everyone who has participated in Mayo Clinic’s research and those who have raised money to advance research. As you’ll hear in Mayo’s presentation, your participation in their study and everyone’s fundraising efforts are paying off!
We also appreciate Nick D’Orazio for sharing his media expertise and streaming the Chicagoland presentation again this year. Nick lost his wife to SCAD several years ago.
