2018 Minnesota SCADaddle

The first annual SCADdaddle© weekend on September 21-22 in St. Paul, MN was a fun and very successful weekend.

5K SCADaddle© for Research

The 5K fun run/walk took place Saturday morning at Battle Creek Regional Park in East St. Paul (Maplewood). There were over 300 participants including 35 survivors along with family members and friends who participated in memory of their loved one who did not survive. In addition to Minnesota, participants came from AZ, IA, IL, FL, MI and WI. Thanks to participants’ fundraising efforts and sponsorships, tens of thousands of dollars were raised for research.

SCAD survivors were recognized before the start of the 5K. Participation medals were given to each person as they crossed the finish line. Participants enjoyed refreshments and a social afterwards to celebrate the successful completion of the 5K. Items from the SCAD Store were available for purchase.

SCAD Reunion Dinner & Presentation

The weekend kicked off on Friday evening with a SCAD Reunion buffet dinner at Holiday Inn & Suites – Lake Elmo for SCAD survivors, their supporters and family/friends of those who did not survive (SCAD Angels). Each survivor and the family of our SCAD Angel were acknowledged. Dr. Marysia Tweet, one of the key researchers at Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program in Rochester, MN presented Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program’s latest findings and took time to answer questions. In addition to Dr. Tweet, other members of the Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Team attended the dinner as well as the 5K.
