SCAD Research, Inc. Board of Directors recently awarded $90,000 to the Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program under the leadership of Dr. Sharonne Hayes. Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN was the first institution to begin researching SCAD in 2010.
When Bob Alico, our President, notified Dr. Hayes about this year’s $90,000 donation, she responded: What absolutely WONDERFUL news!!!! Thank you Bob and thank the Board and thank all those who helped raise the money and who donated. This makes such a difference in so many ways.
We are an all-volunteer organization. Thanks to the hard work and generosity of many, we have now raised and donated a total of $1,300,000 since we started in 2011! The vast majority of these funds have been donated to Mayo Clinic SCAD Research.
The main source of this year’s funds include:
• 2022 SCADaddle for Research run/walks – West Coast (San Diego), Minnesota, National (Chicago Area), Michigan and Greater Lehigh Valley (PA). A shoutout to the 5K chairs/co-chairs!
• Foundations & Corporations (matching gifts & 5K sponsorships)
• Individual donations
• Sales from our SCAD Store
• Birthday Fundraisers thru Facebook
• AmazonSmile
