A highlight of the National Reunion on June 17 was the research presentation by Dr. Sharonne Hayes and Dr. Marysia Tweet from Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program, Rochester, MN. After the formal presentation, Drs. Hayes and Tweet answered questions from the in-person audience as well as those submitted online. Also joining the dinner and 5K was Dr. Rekha Mankad, Mayo Clinic’s Women’s Heart Clinic Director and Sue Milbrandt, SCAD Study Coordinator.
We appreciate Nick Dorazio, a retired media producer who lost his wife to SCAD, for streaming Mayo’s presentation and for editing and posting the presentation on our YouTube channel.
The SCAD Reunion took place at the Embassy Suites, Naperville, IL with a cash bar featuring a signature heart cocktail and choice of several delicious entrees. After postponing SCADaddles for two years because of COVID, everyone especially enjoyed reconnecting with those they knew as well as meeting new survivors, their supporters and SCAD Angel families.
