2024 IL Presentation

Chicagoland SCAD Reunion Social/Dinner

June 21, 2024

Always a highlight of the SCADaddle weekend, Dr. Sharonne Hayes and Dr. Marysia Tweet presented Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program’s latest research findings at our annual Chicagoland SCAD Reunion Social/Dinner. After their presentation, they answered questions from both the in-person audience and questions submitted through our SCAD Research Inc’s Facebook page.

This is a wonderful opportunity to hear from top researchers on spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD). Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, was the first institution to conduct research focused specifically on SCAD. They currently have the largest SCAD biobank in the world. Thank you Dr. Hayes and Dr. Tweet for spending your Friday and Saturday with us!

SCAD Research, Inc is an all-volunteer IRS approved 501(c)(3) public charity established in 2011. Because of the hard work of our supporters and the generosity of many, we have raised and donated over $1.45 million for research. Most of these funds have been awarded to Mayo Clinic.

Thank you to everyone who has participated in Mayo Clinic’s research and those who have raised money to advance research. As you’ll hear in Mayo’s presentation, your participation in their study and everyone’s fundraising efforts are paying off!

We also appreciate Nick D’Orazio for sharing his media expertise and streaming the Chicagoland presentation again this year. You will see text at the bottom of the video in a few places where the audio is not clear. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
