2022 West Coast 5k SCADaddle©
Saturday, April 23, 2022
After two years of postponements due to COVID-19, our 6th annual West Coast SCADaddle for Research weekend took place in San Diego at beautiful Mission Bay – Crown Point Park. It was wonderful to be together in person again. The 5K was timed and awards were given to the overall winner male and female. Trophies/recognition were given to 2nd and 3rd place males/females overall and to the top three males/females in a variety of age groups
All participants received a participation medal when they crossed the finish line.
There was face painting, refreshments and a complimentary pizza lunch prepared on site. San Diego State cheerleaders added to the festivities cheering participants at the start and as they crossed the finish line.
SCAD Reunion & Mayo Clinic SCAD Presentation
On Friday evening, SCAD survivors, their supporters and families who lost someone to SCAD enjoyed a SCAD Reunion Social at the United Portuguese Hall beginning with a social hour and followed by dinner.
We were honored to have Dr. Sharonne Hayes, Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program team lead, Rochester MN join us. Dr. Hayes presented the latest research findings. Her presentation was also streamed on Facebook. After the presentation, Dr Hayes answered questions from the audience including those submitted through Facebook.
