2025 Twin Cities (MN) 5K SCADaddle© For Research
May 17, 2025
Our 6th annual Minnesota 5K SCADaddle© for Research fun run/walk took place on Saturday, May 17, 2025. It was a great success, raising tens of thousands of dollars for much needed research. There were almost 300 who registered to attend in-person and 10 registered to participate virtually.
In-person participants included almost 40 survivors and more than 20 members of The Ruhberg’s Heart Beats On team, who participated in memory of Dick Ruhberg, a SCAD Angel. All participants received a SCADaddle© medal as they crossed the finish line at Battle Creek Regional Park, Maplewood MN.
Afterwards, participants enjoyed refreshments, kids’ activities, each other’s company and an opportunity to shop the SCAD store along with other vendors. Thank you to all who joined in the festivities and helped to make this year’s MN SCADaddle another great success!

A SCAD Reunion for survivors, their supporters and SCAD Angel families took place on Friday evening at the Holiday Inn & Suites, Lake Elmo.
The Meet & Greet with a cash bar started at 5:00pm and dinner was served at 6:30pm. Participants took turns sharing their SCAD stories prior to Mayo Clinic’s research presentation.
We are grateful to all of the members of the Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Team who joined us. Thank you Dr. Marysia Tweet and Dr. Patricia Best for presenting Mayo Clinic’s latest research findings after dinner. Following their presentation, Dr. Tweet and Dr. Best answered questions from the audience.
