2019 Lehigh Valley 5k SCADaddle© for Research
October 29, 2019
The Lehigh Valley timed run and walk on October 12 at Upper Saucon Township Community Park in Bethlehem, PA wrapped up the 2019 SCADaddle© season. It was a busy weekend, enjoyed by all. Thousands of dollars were raised for research.
Medals were given to the top three finishers males/females overall and in a variety of age categories. Participants relaxed and enjoyed refreshments afterwards.

2019 West Coast 5k SCADaddle© for Research
September 28, 2019
Our 5th annual West Coast SCADaddle for Research weekend took place in San Diego at beautiful Mission Bay – Crown Point Park. This is the first year the West Coast SCADaddle was a timed run/walk. The top three male and female overall finishers received top finisher medals. There was face painting and a complimentary pizza and salad lunch made on site. Participants visited information booths manned by WomenHeart, Fibromuscular Dysplasia Society of America (FMD) and SCAD Research, Inc. San Diego State cheerleaders added to the festivities cheering participants at the start and as they crossed the finish line.

2019 Minnesota 5k SCADaddle© For Research
September 7, 2019
Our 2nd annual Minnesota 5K SCADaddle© for Research fun run/walk on September 7th were a great success, raising thousands of dollars for much needed research. There were over 400 registered participants including 40 survivors and 40 members of The Ruhberg’s Heart Beats On team who participated in memory of Dick Ruhberg. All participants received a SCADaddle© medal as they crossed the finish line at Battle Creek Regional Park, St. Paul MN.

The fourth annual SCADdaddle© weekend September 7- 8 in Carlsbad, CA was another amazing weekend. The weekend kicked off on Friday evening with a Survivor Meet & Greet, which provided an opportunity for survivors to meet others in person who also live with SCAD.

2018 National (IL) 5k SCADaddle©

The 2018 National chip-timed run/walk marked our seventh annual 5K in Illinois. This year’s SCADaddle© for Research once again took place at Danada Forest Preserve, Wheaton, IL. Participants from across the US and Canada ran/walked on Danada’s USATF certified crushed limestone course. There were 330 registered participants, including 48 survivors and a number of supporters walking in memory of those who did not survive (SCAD Angels).

Due to the generosity of individuals, organizations and businesses, the SCADaddle raised about $25,000 for research!

2017 West Coast (CA) 5k SCADaddle
September 8, 2017
The weekend began on Friday, Sept. 8 with a Meet & Greet for survivors, their supporters and families whose loved ones did not survive. Bob Alico, founder of SCAD Research, welcomed survivors and talked about future plans. He accepted a donation from survivor Theresa Cole’s daughter whose school had a Penny Drive and raised $800 for SCAD Research.

Over 175 participants registered this year including 19 survivors as well as those who walked in memory of Meagan Edelman Duarte. Due to the generosity of individuals and businesses, over $35,000 was raised!

2016 New Jersey 5k SCADaddle

SCAD Survivors and supporters gathered on April 30, 2016, at 9:30 am for the first 5K SCADaddle for Research in New Jersey! The run/walk took place at Winding River Park in Toms River, New Jersey. Participants came from various states along the East Coast and raised well over ten thousand dollars for research and an additional large donation is expected.

2016 Aussie SCADaddle

The first Annual 5km SCADaddle for Research fun run/ walks took place in four States across Australia on April 3, 2016. More than 250 people attended raising over $9,800 AUD ( $7000 USD) for SCAD Research! What started out as an inquiry from an Aussie survivor about organizing a 5km in Sydney to raise money for research grew into four 5km events on 3rd April.» Read more

There was over 190 registered participants including 32 survivors coming from the states of California, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Minnesota, Massachusetts, Washington and British Columbia. Our 2015 fourth annual national chip-timed 5K took place on an USATF Certified crushed limestone course at beautiful Danada Forest Preserve in Wheaton, IL. The 2015 5K set new records including: Over 320 registered runners and walkers; 56 survivors from across the US, Canada and Sweden; A male survivor attended for the first time; Largest number of financial sponsors; Silent auction with 43 entries.» Read more

The third annual national 5k event was a first in more than one way. In order to accommodate our growing number of participants, we moved to beautiful, historic St. James Farm Forest Preserve. Another successful 5K Walk/Fun Run for SCAD Research was enjoyed by all on May 4, 2013 at Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve, Naperville, IL. On a beautiful spring day over 160 participants gathered to raise money for SCAD research and education and to reconnect with each other.
