Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection

My SCAD Adventure

April 16, 2014

After being treated unsuccessfully with medication for tachycardia I had a echo cardiogram and nuclear stress test. The stress test showed a 34% ejection fraction which led to an angiogram at the Edwards Heart Hospital in Naperville, IL on March 27, 2014. The angiogram revealed a rupture in the left main coronary artery which they were able to put a stent (Everolimus Eluting Platinum Chromium Coronary Stent System) in.
l am age 59 and had few noticeable symptoms, I am beginning cardiac rehab and will not be able to attend the May 3rd 5K, but my heart will be with you!
The doctors and staff at Edwards Hospital saved my life.
I plan to participate in the Mayo Clinic research and will allow them access to my medical history, with your help and input.

Thank you for starting this necessary foundation for all our loved ones,
