Our 1st annual Solomons Island (MD) 5k SCADaddle© for Research chip-timed run/walk took place on Saturday, May 18, 2024. It was a great success despite the less than desirable weather. The rain didn’t stop a hardy group of supporters who ran/walked between the rain drops…
Fourteen of the 100 registrants were survivors. Thousands of dollars were raised for much needed research!
After the SCADaddle there was an awards ceremony for top finishers. Overall top male and female received a medal/award. Medals/recognition were given to 2nd and 3rd place overall male and female finishers and to the top 3 male and female finishers in a variety of age categories.

SCAD Reunion & Seminar
A SCAD Reunion especially for survivors and their supporters took place following the awards ceremony at nearby Southern Maryland Sailing Association. The Sailing Association was a welcome reprieve from the rain.
Dr. Sonia Samtani, an Interventional Cardiologist at MedStar Health, Maryland conducted a SCAD Education Seminar. Dr. Samtani’s presentation received great reviews. She is well known in the community for treating SCAD patients.
