2022 Minnesota 5k SCADaddle©
Saturday, May 14, 2022
After a 2-year delay due to COVID, our 3rd annual Minnesota 5K SCADaddle© for Research fun run/walk took place on Saturday, May 14, 2022. It was a great success, raising thousands of dollars for much needed research. There were over 350 registered to attend in-person and 10 registered to participate virtually.
In-person participants included 44 survivors and 27 members of The Ruhberg’s Heart Beats On team who participated in memory of Dick Ruhberg. All participants received a SCADaddle© medal as they crossed the finish line at Battle Creek Regional Park, Maplewood MN.
Afterwards, participants enjoyed refreshments, kids’ activities, each other’s company and an opportunity to shop the SCAD store and other vendors. Thank you to all who joined in the festivities and helped to make this year’s SCADaddle such a success!
SCAD Reunion & Mayo Clinic SCAD Presentation
A SCAD Reunion for survivors, their supporters and SCAD Angel families took place on Friday evening at the Holiday Inn & Suites, Lake Elmo.
The Meet & Greet with a cash bar started at 5:00pm and dinner was served at 6:30pm. Survivors shared their stories prior to the research presentation by Mayo Clinic.
We are grateful to members of the Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Team who joined us. Thank you Dr. Sharonne Hayes and Dr. Patricia Best for presenting Mayo’s latest research findings after dinner. Following their presentation, Dr. Hayes and Dr. Best answered questions from the audience and those submitted through Facebook. Thank you Ellen Robin, for streaming their presentation on Facebook.
