Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection

Survivor – An Elite Athlete

December 27, 2015

A recent survivor, I am an elite athlete, with good health, and I collapsed at the end of a gruelling track session, was checking out until my coachs quick thinking(She is also a respected nurse) saved me, she administered cpr and brought me around, However I remember nothing of the next 12 or so hours, an angiogram spotted a scad in my left artery. It has healed pretty fast, so far so good, going from running and competing (65 + miles per week) to zero is hard, book reading for now, I am hoping to make a complete recovery ,whether I will ever get back to the level previous, who know for now. As unlucky as it sounds my luck was in for sure that night, iIoften train these sessions alone.
