Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection

No memory of it!

January 17, 2016

I have no memory of it. I woke up in the hospital and lost about 5 days of my life. I had gotten the keys to our brand new home on January 23 of 2015. I was pretty excited. We were going to move the next day bright and early. That is all I can remember. According to my husband, I was complaining of muscle pain that Saturday morning. We iced it up because we assumed it was due to lifting boxes.

Around 3 or 4 o’clock, we were done moving and then I collapsed on the floor of the new house. My brother in law and the movers were with me and started right away CPR because I had stopped breathing. My husband was coming back from getting some food and started doing the breathing while my brother in law was doing compressions. 911 was called right away and the firemen showed up minutes later. They had to shock my heart back to life.

If I was alone at that time I would have been dead. I would have left two amazing boys and a loving husband behind. My earliest memories of from the day before I left the hospital. It is quite vague I might add. I had not surgeries or anything done. Time healed me. Hopefully it healed me well. I have been back at work full time since September 2015. I am a teacher.

There isn’t one day I don’t think about when or if it will happen again.
