Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection

I Thought It Was Gas or a Muscle Spasm

December 14, 2015

December 6th, 2015 I woke at 7:30am feeling a little unrested, but awake. Within seconds my left arm started aching like I needed to stretch or reposition. Neither was relieving the ache, so I got up. I walked down stairs to feed the dog and the aching got worse and was creeping to my over my heart. I started feeling short of breath and lots of pressure. I went back upstairs and laid down next to my husband and said that something didn’t feel right.

It continually got worse, but I felt silly having him call 911 because I thought for sure it was just gas or muscle spasm. As the shortness of breath became worse I finally allowed him to call. I was admitted to the hospital at 9am. I was diagnosed with SCAD.
