Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection

I survived!

June 2, 2015

I was on the golf course and someone got confrontational with my husband, myself, and my neighbor. The person screamed in my face and scared me so much that I wound up with Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy. I was taken by ambulance to the emergency room where they were treating me. I don’t remember anything but my husband told me that I also had SCAD and that I wound up dying twice on the table. If not for the greatest Cardiac Surgeon doing immediate bypass surgery, I would not be here. They kept me in a medically induced coma for 3 days to help my heart to heal. It was my right coronary artery. By the way, when this happened last year, I was a very healthy 57 year old in great shape. Changed my life forever.
