My name is Melissa and I am from South Carolina. On May 21st 2016 I delivered my baby. Had a great and healthy pregnancy. May 24th started experiencing indigestion type pain in chest, pushed it off until May 26th. Woke up to the pain getting slightly worse. Checked my BP, it was 153/85, normal is 100-109/60-65. Heart rate was 31, normal is in 70’s. Decided to head to ER.
They did different tests but that showed nothing, only an EF of 45-50 on Echo. Admitted me into OB part of hospital for 4 days 3 nights, then sent home on May 29th. 2 days later on May 31st at 9:00pm I had a sudden crushing pain in the middle of my chest and squeezing pain in both arms. Went to ER and EKG and triponin tests were abnormal. They told me I was having a heart attack.
Had a stent placed on the RAS(right side of heart, bottom). 2 weeks later 2nd stent was placed at top of the same artery. No one knows what happened but multiple cardiologist are saying SCAD and to not get pregnant anymore. Feeling overwhelmed and scared. Wish there was more information about SCAD.
