Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection

45 y.o. Woman

May 7, 2016

I am a 45 y.o. who in the past 2 weeks has had 2 mild MI’s and 4 hospitalizations before a cardiologist concluded that I had SCAD. My angiogram was reviewed by a handful of top notch radiologists who were confounded by my dx until the 4th admission and persistence of chest pain.

Prior to these events I was an active person. I did hot yoga and cycled, worked a full time job, and managed a busy life with 3 children and a husband. I am now on a lot of medication, in the process of being scanned for fmd, and am anxious about having a recurrence.

I am nervous about resuming my normal lifestyle and feel reluctant to be far from a hospital and question the safety of air travel with my children. I am not planning to live in fear but given the trauma of these recent weeks I am filled with trepidation.
