2024 Texas 5k SCADaddle© for Research

Our 1st annual Texas 5k SCADaddle© for Research run/walk took place on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Wolf Pen Creek Park, College Station, Texas. It was a great success, raising thousands of dollars for much needed research. There were 100 registered participants.
Participants included 20 survivors and two who participated in memory of their loved ones who did not survive (SCAD Angels). Awards were given to top male and female overall finishers and recognitions to 2nd/3rd place overall finishers as well as top three male and female finishers in a variety of age categories.
Afterwards, participants enjoyed refreshments, kids’ activities, a silent auction and each other’s company. They also had an opportunity to shop the SCAD store. Thank you to all who joined in the festivities and helped to make our first Texas SCADaddle a success!
SCAD Reunion Meet & Greet
On Friday evening, April 19, an informal social was enjoyed by survivors, their supporters and a SCAD Angel’s husband.
After ordering dinner at Coopers BBQ in College Station, participants went to a private dining room to enjoy their dinner, mingle and share their SCAD stories with others impacted by SCAD. This is the first time that some have met another person impacted by SCAD face-to-face.
