- [Our 2nd Pittsburgh SCADaddle is Now History!](https://scadresearch.org/our-2nd-pittsburgh-scadaddle-is-now-history/): The 2nd annual Pittsburgh 5K SCADaddle for Research timed run/walk on October 5 wrapped up our 2025 SCADaddle season in style. The chip-timed 5K took place at South Park – Edgebrook Field, South Park Township, just outside Pittsburgh. All participants received a participation medal as they crossed the finish line. Awards/recognitions were given to top overall finishers. Recognition was given to the 2nd/3rd place finishers overall and to the top 3 finishers in a variety of age groups. Many thousands of dollars were raised for research. More than 50 survivors participated. Family/friends of Tina, a SCAD Angel walked in her memory. Among her many other accomplishments, Debbie, as a volunteer, started and directed for 10 years a week-long summer camp for children in the San Diego County Foster Care System. - [New Genetic Research Results on SCAD](https://scadresearch.org/new-genetic-research-results-on-scad/): Funded primarily by SCAD Research, Inc., the Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Team conducted a genome-wide association study comparing 5 million genetic markers in 667 women with SCAD and 1817 women without SCAD. The research discovered five markers and associated candidate genes linked to SCAD risk, providing a new focus for ongoing basic and clinical research. The study was recently featured in the Journal of the American Medical Association – Cardiology. - [Study on Revascularization for SCAD](https://scadresearch.org/study-on-revascularization-for-scad/): In a new study Long-term Outcome After Emergency Revascularization for SCAD funded by SCAD Research, Inc., researchers from the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF) compared the long-term outcomes of 55 patients with revascularization (including attempted) at initial angiogram with 63 non-revascularized patients at initial angiogram. The findings were presented by Dr. Christina Thaler, a researcher at MHIF, at the American College of Cardiology (ACC) 2020 World Congress. The presentation was scheduled to place March 28-30 in Chicago, IL. The presentation was done virtually due to COVID-19. The results are unpublished findings. A largely unexplored subject, members of the Mayo Clinic SCAD Research team assessed the prevalence and severity of psychiatric symptoms after SCAD. In this article, they share their methodology, analysis and conclusions about the impact of SCAD on mental health.
