Minnesota 5K SCADaddle Success!

September 18, 2019

Our 2nd annual 5K SCADaddle© for Research Fun Run/Walk at Battle Creek Regional Park, St. Paul (Maplewood) MN on September 7 was very successful, raising thousands of dollars for much needed research. Over 420 people registered including 38 survivors. The Ruhberg’s Heart Beats On team consisted of 40 members, who ran/walked in memory of their SCAD Angel who did not survive his SCAD.

All runners/walkers received a SCADaddle© medal as they crossed the finish line. There were activities before and after the 5K including a SCAD store, kids’ activities and fun for all! The winners of the quilt raffles were Laurie Fosburgh (Heart Quilt) and Shenee Slade (Heart Chevrons Quilt). Thank you SCAD survivors Mary Manderscheid and Andi Lien for creating these beautiful quilts!

SCAD Reunion Events – Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Presentation
A special event for SCAD survivors, families who lost someone to SCAD and SCAD supporters took place Friday evening September 6 at the Holiday Inn & Suites, Lake Elmo.

The evening began at 5:30pm with a Meet & Greet followed by a 6:00pm dinner. We were honored to have Dr. Sharonne Hayes, Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program team lead and Dr. Marysia Tweet, one of the key researchers, present their latest findings followed by a Q&A.
